Things to do during Halloween this COVID season:

Oh The Horror!

There are so many selections on Disney Plus, Hulu, Prime, and Netflix. If you are trying to not hang out with other people, these services have a group-watch option where you can send a link to your friends and watch movies together. And if you do have some friends that you can hang out with, grab some popcorn and build a fort.

If you don't like any of the movies on those streaming services, you can even make your own short horror film. Lights, Camera, Action! Grab a camera, gather some Covid-free friends (or do a one-person show), write a script and get to filming! If you decide to go this route, please feel free to send me your videos, I would love to watch.

Best Dressed

If you're not trying risk getting Covid by showing off your costumes at Halloween parties, grab your costume(s), makeup, wig, and phone. You can try on different costumes and have a photoshoot. I mean why not? YOU LOOK GOOD!

Trick or Socially Distanced?

Considering that it is Covid, some people may not want to go trick or treating this year. But if you socially distance and wear a mask, you should be able to have fun while being safe. Just make sure you check your candy before eating it. Or if you do not want to chance anything, you can get creative and set up trick or treating inside your home. Put bowls of candy inside each room and have everyone in their costumes go around to collect them. You can even have a doorbell effect when going to each "house." And play some Halloween music or other creepy sound effects to get the trick or treaters in the mood.

Haunted Rona

You can visit a Haunted House during these times. A lot of haunted houses such as CornStalker's Trail of Terror have taken safety precautions. These include sanitization centers, taking temperatures, enforcing masks, and cleaning before and after each opening. Of course if you would rather not leave your home, you can always create a haunted house there. Either you can reuse old Halloween decorations or buy some new ones from Party City, Amazon, Spirit Halloween, and etc. Include creepy sound effects. And if this is something for those under 16, you can always invite your friends over to play the actors.

Dance Party

Make a Halloween playlist and dance all night with or without costumes! Or if you do not want to create your own, there are many options on different Music platforms. I also made one if you want to check it out! https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/halloween/pl.u-11zBXDVU84kLr1p

Other Fall Activities

This fall, you can carve pumpkins, get or make your own pumpkin spice lattes, make smores, or bake fall themed deserts (or buy them I usually get my holiday themed sugar cookies from Giant Grocery store). You can have a socially distanced bonfire or campfire. You can even get started on your Christmas list or shopping. Or plan a trip to a corn maze, hayride, pumpkin patch, or an escape room. If you're feeling artsy and creative, you can learn how to crochet. This can be a wonderful present for the winter and if you love it so much, you can even start your own crocheting business.
